At Axate, we’re committed to solutions that work for publishers and readers alike.
What drives us
Supporting publishers
Our fundamental mission is to help publishers thrive. We’ve been in publishing for decades, and have seen first-hand the challenges the transition to digital has created. We built Axate to solve a fundamental issue: enabling customer payment to be available for every publisher and every user. We’re not here to dictate what to do with your product; with Axate, publishers maintain full control over their product, pricing and messaging. We know that you know what works best for you and your readers. We exist to give you more options and to grow your opportunity.
Connecting readers
We made Axate so publishers can meet the needs of readers, too. Readers have always engaged with a range of news and media products in a fluid, casual way, and even more so online than in print. Axate matches how people pay with their reading habits, making payment as casual as browsing. This lets you work with your readers, not against them. They can still subscribe if they want, but it’s not their only option to support your journalism. Plus, they’re not locked out if they decide to stop subscribing. With Axate, publishers and readers both win.
Journalism works best when readers are also customers. With big tech platforms getting the lion’s share of digital advertising revenue, re-connecting popular, high quality journalism with a scalable revenue source has never been more important. Axate’s network effect opens the market and puts readers back at the heart of the business. Readers know what they like, know journalism’s worth and its importance to a thriving democracy, and they are willing to pay; Axate gives them a way to do it that works.
